A Raisin in the Sun. Personally I feel as though that is the perfect title for this play we are reading in class. When I think about a raisin sitting under the rays of the sun, I think about the raisin getting smaller, more... raisin-y, kind of like how if a family, similar to the Younger family in the play, may become smaller and more heated when placed under a great deal of stress.
The play introduces us to the Younger family, a family consisting of a father, Walter, a mother, Ruth, and their son Travis. Along side these characters are other important characters such as 'Mama' and Beneatha. The Younger family is debating on what the insurance money (from the death of Walter's father) should be spent on. The debate on money creates a tension within the family, similar to how the sun may slowly decay a raisin.
